Philosophical Reflections on Reasons for Belief, Intention and Action

- Today my self-esteem hit an all time low when I stumbled across an argument proving conclusively that I don't exist. I’m quite distressed. This probably explains why my jeans are so loose-fitting. What’s equally upsetting is that I learned that non-existence does not exempt one from local or federal taxes.

do you respond to the view presented here in any of your posts? i'd be interested in hearing what you think of this lecture.

No posted response yet. I've only just began thinking about Action and Intentionality, so I'm still trying to formulate my ideas on the subject. However, at this point I am very sympathetic to most of the ideas expressed in the lecture. I was particularly pleased to hear the passing reference to "proto-rational agents", since the attempt to accommodate such agents is proving to be a significant influence on the shape of my conception of intentional action and explanation.
